Visual of skies in Utah I re-purposed in Seattle for the TNEEL project at the University of Washington and later for Organica Design, my company I started in Seattle. I increased the gamma levels on Photoshop, but it’s not altered significantly.

About

Updated Resume (PDF) • 2-page UX Content Strategist & Writer Resume (PDF) • Complete PortfolioLinkedIn

Being a problem solver in communications, user experiences, and marketing has always been a passion of mine. Often it's been in academia or nonprofits, but I also have enterprise experience. My most recent role has been as the senior UX Content Strategist at Aetna/CVS Health with an empathetic focus on Medicare enrollment.

Combined, I have 8+ years experience working in UX as both designer and content editor.

20 Years of Human-Centered Content

Creatively speaking, the success of numerous $1-3 million grants and marketing endeavors I’ve worked on relied on my distinct visuals, words, strategy, and tone. All goals were met in effectively reaching target audiences. For example, a $1.6 million TNEEL Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant to improve end-of-life care nationwide sank-or-swam on the video, audio, and graphic content I created. Two major accomplishments of mine from that grant were completing and launching the TNEEL SS and TNEEL APA e-learning websites as lead UX designer and researcher. These unique educational platforms broke new ground on the pedagogical possibilities of the user experience (UX) with an innovative user interface (UI).

Recent UX Work

From 2020 to 2023 at Salesforce, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), and Aetna I’ve expanded my leadership toolkit, focusing on content strategy, UX writing, design systems, ROI, and team building.

My primary accomplishment as a key collaborative member of the UX Design Team for MSK was building the foundational bridge from the UX group to the marketing and communications department. Aligning the MSK voice, tone, and language for a new design system helped developers and product builders successfully brand their work in this 20,000-employee organization considered one of the top two cancer centers in North America.

At Salesforce as UX technical writer, I orchestrated the development of Trailhead learning modules for the Salesforce Lightning Design System as part of a new User Experience (UX) Designer certification.

My Mission: Great, User-Friendly Design

As a designer for the bulk of my career and in numerous volunteer capacities, I strive to have empathy when it comes to the user experience online and the client experience offline. I listen. And I lead. For example, I held the title of Marketing Director twice by the age of 24.

Beyond visual design, I also thoroughly enjoy interacting with people of all backgrounds, research, engaging data, managing complex projects, and — perhaps most of all — writing. I can pen a 1000-word profile with instinctual ease, and then follow it up with a slew of snappy 280-character Tweets. As a "pro-of-many-trades" thinker and creative, I am often on my own managing end-to-end communication and marketing solutions, but I prefer open-minded and collaborative teams. My capacity to be a compassionate leader has been tested in several diverse environments. But I also know how to simply jump in and “do the work.”

I'm currently looking for a public, nonprofit, or private sector position in North America where I can apply my 20+ professional years as a results-oriented creative specialist and marketing expert. Primary work locations: Illinois, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Michigan, New York, or Ontario, Canada.

For fun I like to cook for others, play basketball (and racket sports), travel, and go to the movies.
